Guts Studio β€” Identity Design

Design Studio Guts, is a passion project created to add work to my portfolio that has otherwise been inaccessible. Although no real client or project exists, I have posed real world challenges to myself based on cumulative client and project experience. Aside from learning, the goal of this project is to create a full brand identity for this fictitious studio - accounting for any and all collateral a design studio may need, while displaying creativity and directorial ability.

Although Guts is informal, the brand is smart. Layout is designed to be open and clean. The brand displays it’s less serious tone through the use of off-kilter icons and illustrations, with very few parallel lines and stark
contrasty weight.

Brand photography is always black and white; we are looking for images that are highly nostalgic. The goal is to feel like the viewer is the person behind the camera - experiencing a distant memory. This effect is also achievable through slight grain and digital black and white corrections. This style is born from an appreciation of photography and cinema, which have influenced my taste and approach as a designer.
